Cole Witter is an interdisciplinary artist exploring themes of spirituality, identity, and duality. A self-taught photographer from rural Minnesota, he specializes in fine-art and commercial portrait photography. Witter invites curiosity and liberation into his compositions. He emphasizes the innate power of his subjects through transformative processes that transmute the mundane into flickers of wonder.
Witter’s fine art photography was featured in MyMA’s debut photography exhibition, "DUALITY”. Additionally, his photos joined the group exhibitions “Uprise 2025: The Art of Resistance” and “REBEL” at Untitled Space Gallery in NYC. His debut solo exhibition, “IN hIS IMAGE,” at Taaffe Gallery in NYC, showcased 15 photographs examining the spiritual and psychological tensions between queer identity and Christian ideology.
Internationally published, Witter’s work is featured in Vogue (Sept. 2020), People Español, Garage, Office, HBO, Batshit Times and My Gaye Eye. Book features include “Our Light Through Darkness” published by Impulse NYC.
Witter earned a BFA in acting from the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point ‘15.
He is currently based in Brooklyn, where he has lived for the past decade.
